Vintage DT-50M, 50cc Yamaha Dual-Sport Motorcyle, VERY RETRO/COOL for sale in Aumsville, Oregon

$175

Up for sale is a vintage DT-50M, 50cc Yamaha Dual-Sport motorcyle. I purchased this bike last year with the hope of a restoration. VERY cool (full-size frame) retro dual-sport that's liquid cooled as well as oil injected. The previous owner rode the bike home from his mechanics shop and claimed it ran A-OK but needs some tune-up tinkering. I've never even tried to start it, but did purchase the engine case parts missing in the pics from a bike breaker in the U.K. They are included, but not installed. I lost the use of my left arm in a farming accident so the ole hand clutch is a problem for me anymore. Bike needs a new paint job and detailing. Tank has a few dents. Seat is clearly not original and needs to be replaced. Being sold with Bill of Sale only. No title. Bike is located in Aumsville, Oregon.
The Yamaha DT50M was the entry level 50cc in the Yamaha DT series. Production started 1978 and ended 1981. Tts a dual purpose street/trail bike aimed at the novice rider taking their first steps into motorcycling. It's fair to say they were not built for speed but offered torquie engines and high gearing. The DT50M was fitted with twin rear shocks and 19"/17" front and rear wheels. FYI. The DT50M had a road bike sister called the RD50M (sharing the same engine unit).
